You have a 3 options to use for your Talking Signs,
Text To Speech (TTS), record your own messages or mix TTS and prerecorded messages.
Option 1
Option 2
Option 3
No need to record your own messages. You can use Text To Speech (TTS).
TTS is where the computer reads the text back using a computer generated voice.
Prerecorded Messages
Mix of Text To Speech (TTS)
and Prerecorded Messages
If you do not upload prerecorded voice files, the system will speak
the information you entered in on the property detail page. This information is in the brown highlighted areas shown below.
Prerecord your messages as shown below. Uploaded voice files are immediately accessible through your talking signs .
If the system does not find a prerecorded message,
it will play the TTS.
Below are the instructions you will see once you log into your account and then edit a particular Talking Sign listing.
We recommend that before logging in, that you prerecord separate Customer Personal Greeting, Address, Description and Price files.
The Customer Personal Greeting will be played for all of your talking signs. You can upload any or all of the Customer, Address, Description or Price files. It is up to you as to what information you would like the caller to hear.
The files must be recorded using 11,025 kHz, 16Bit, Mono format or 8,000 kHz, 16Bit, Mono. You have to set the properties first before you record, not after. Click here to see how to check the file properties.
Once you have uploaded them, dial 1-540-242-0562 and test your talking ad. If there is a file you uploaded but you do not hear it, it is most likely not recorded properly.
Here is where you can upload prerecorded
voice files for the Talking Signs.
If you do not upload a prerecorded voice file for an individual item, then that specific item will not be played to the caller.
Sound files
can be about 30 seconds in length (500,000 bytes) and must
be recorded using 11,025 kHz, 16Bit, Mono format or 8,000 kHz, 16Bit, Mono.
If this format is not correct, the file will upload, but you will not be able to hear it on the phone system.
On a Windows system. To record sound
files, click Start > Programs > Accessories > Entertainment > Sound
Recorder. (Image)
Then click File > Properties > Convert
Now and select 11,025 kHz, 16Bit, Mono or 8,000 kHz, 16Bit, Mono (Image)
Prerecord your voice file, then save and upload. We suggest saving your files as the same ID number for the listing and the type of recording. Ex: If the DIRECT ID number is 1004, then save the file as 1004Greeting.wav, 1004desc.wav, etc. This will help you select the correct file to upload.
1. Select the type of voice file to upload.
2. Click the "Browse" button to select the file from your computer to upload.
3. Click the "Upload" button.
If you do not upload a prerecorded voice file for an individual item,
