How to get a Single Property Web site for your listing. |

You don't even have to sign up for our system for this to work. A domain name can point to any listing on any site. The following information shows you how to point a domain name to a listing on our web site. We would like that! |
|
| Once you have your listings on our site, each will have its own detail page and separate URL. To illustrate this, click here to our search for a property then click the link that takes you to the detail page. Or you can look at our sample listing by clicking here DIRECT ID 1004. | |
| Once you are on the listings detail page, in the address bar of the browser, you will see a long URL. This is the URL link of the detail page that will be used as the FORWARD when using a domain name specific to your property listing. | |
| The URL to our sample listing looks like this. http://www.home-phone.com/u/DirectIDDetail.asp?propertyid=1004 You listing on our site will have a different number at the end. |
|
| Now you need to buy a domain name that is specific to a property. Our example is www.4321AppleWay.com |
|
| If you know how, open up a new browser window and log into any domain name hosting company you prefer. Most all domain hosting companies will allow you to "forward" a URL. | |
| Once you log into your reputable preferred domain hosting company, go ahead and purchase a domain that will be specific to your listing. (That seems to be all the rage right now!) | |
| So say your property is at 4321 Apple Way in SomeTown USA. You COULD, if it's available, buy a domain name called www.4321AppleWay.com | |
| Once you purchase the domain name, you will need to get into the details and modify/edit the domain. You are looking for "URL Forward" or "Redirection". Some companies charge for this service. | |
| There will be a place to add the URL. Copy and paste the URL link that you found for the listing detail page as described earlier. You can shorten the URL if needed by going to http://goo.gl. | |
| If the option is available, use the "Stealth" or "Mask". This hides the long url and users will just see the domain you purchased. Then save to enable URL. Don't close your browser windows just yet. | |
| Test it. If, while you are still at the URL forwarding page, there should be a TEST link. Click it and make sure it works. | |
| You can also test it by opening up another browser window and entering the new domain name that you purchased. www.4321AppleWay.com | |
| Now just go out and buy a rider sign and post it at the property... if your local zoning code allows! | |
